New foundation alert! I stumbled upon Burt’s new line of liquid foundation last week and took it for a spin today. I’ve purchased several products from the Burt’s Bees line over the years, mostly lip products, so I was interested to see how the foundation would perform.
Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Full Coverage Liquid Makeup comes in 18 shades. My shade, Cocoa, is the deepest shade available. The finish is dewy, but not-at-all greasy.
I’m happy to report this foundation is formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances, dermatologist tested, and not tested on animals.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil
This foundation is made with responsibly sourced Meadowfoam Seed Oil, which is reportedly known for its skin-moisturizing benefits. Although new to me, Meadowfoam seed oil is commonly used in cosmetic and hair-care formulas because of its stability, emolliency and smooth, skin-like feel.

What’s Inside
The ingredients look very much like hieroglyphics to me, but this foundation is indeed 98.9% natural.
(Shade — Cocoa) Ingredients: water, octyldodecanol, isoamyl laurate, glycerin, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, caprylyl caprylate/caprate, polyglyceryl-4 caprate, glyceryl stearate SE, squalane, cetearyl alcohol, cetearyl glucoside, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, honey, bambusa arundinacea stem extract**, glycine soja (soybean) oil, jojoba esters, tocopherol, lecithin, xanthan gum, alumina, silica, alcohol, fragrance*, maltodextrin, glyceryl caprylate, sodium phytate, glyceryl undecylenate, sodium stearoyl glutamate, polyglyceryl-3 stearate, trihydroxystearin, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol, amyl cinnamal, citral, citronellol, limonene, linalool. May Contain: iron oxides, titanium dioxide *natural fragrance
The Verdict
I like it, but I still prefer foundations with a matte finish. I will most likely set this foundation with a translucent powder to get closer to the finish I like, but I am happy with the coverage. The foundation is very comfortable, stays put, and removes easily. I’m happy Burt’s Bees had a shade to match my skin tone in their initial launch, but I would love to see the color range expand.
Have you tried this foundation?
Until soon.
