I’ve learned that staying too long and leaving too soon feel the same.
Finding beauty in what’s broken seems noble, but your hands weren’t meant to sift through shattered glass. If you aren’t en route to where you want to be, what about being lost feels safe?
Self-care says to go when it’s time to go.
I get it. You’ve made your share of missteps, so it’s tough to trust your thoughts. Plan B says to trust your gut. Sometimes the things not meant for you will feel right, but very, very rarely will the things that are meant for you feel wrong.
We hear the rags to riches stories and draw inspiration from them. We use those sordid tales to confirm the need for our suffering. But the hustler’s mentality is a trap. And struggle only makes sense to a troubled mind.
I trust my times in darkness because I bring the light. I trust that for all seasons of drought in my life, the rain will soon come. This inner knowing is the only thing I’ve packed en route to where I want to be.
I’ve learned there’s nothing cute about showing off battle scars from fights that were never mine.
I’ve learned that being still and moving on feel the same when the time is right.
